SCHOLARSHIPS
Armonk Soccer Club proudly presents the Mike Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Brett Gober Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of two extraordinary coaches who left an indelible mark on our soccer community.
Coach Jones, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 25, was more than just a soccer coach - he was a mentor, innovator, and inspiration to countless young athletes. Originally from Southport, near Liverpool, England, Coach Jones brought his passion for Liverpool FC and his infectious enthusiasm to every practice and game, working tirelessly with players from kindergarten through high school at both Castleford Rovers and Armonk United (now Armonk Soccer Club).
Coach Gober, an accomplished All-Ivy Soccer Player (1981 & 1982) and graduate of Cornell University, later earned his Masters from Manhattanville University and served as a devoted Special Education teacher. As a professional coach for the Castleford Rovers (now Armonk Soccer Club) girls' teams, Coach Gober was known for his unique approach to developing both athletic skills and team unity. His impact on players went far beyond the field.
